Kindergarten
In Mrs. Robinette's class, Kindergarten students are often seen using their classroom set of iPads. Students work in small groups on many apps to improve their reading skills. These apps focus on letter naming, printing practice, phonics skills, and reading. They also work on math skills like counting objects, identifying numbers, comparing numbers, ordering numbers, adding and subtracting, and counting to 100. Using these devices allows all students to learn using up-to-date technology as a nice supplement the lessons.
Students in Miss Marshall's class are very accustomed to seeing technology used daily. In addition to using iPads in their math centers and reading interventions, students participate daily in a "problem of the day" on the SmartBoard. This gives the students opportunities to come up to the board and interact with the problem while the rest of the class helps.
