Students in Mrs. Madalinski's room created Keynote Presentations for their Explorers Report. These students did all of the research in class on their iPads and then created a Keynote presentation. Students took turns presenting their reports to the class by projecting them on the screen for all their classmates to see.
Students in this class also found a different way to learn their vocabulary words. Instead of just trying to memorize them, students created a virtual sock puppet that was used to "teach" each vocabulary word. The Sock Puppet app helped the students see that vocabulary can be fun and the students enjoyed sharing their creations. Every time students viewed a puppet, the definitions to their vocabulary words were reinforced through both audio and visual techniques, which resulted in students being better able to learn the definitions.
