About us:
Bark River-Harris is a small school in Upper Michigan that places a high importance on helping students become technologically ready for their future. BR-H is a K-12 building, so resources can be shared with both elementary and junior high/high school. Students have had many opportunities in the past to use technology classes, but, in 2011, we brought the technology to their everyday classroom. That year we purchased three mobile carts of iPads which were piloted in High School Spanish and English classrooms, second grade, and kindergarten. After much discussion and positive feedback from the learning community, BR-H purchased an additional 340 iPads. Currently, each elementary classroom is equipped with 5 iPads, and there is a mobile cart of 20 additional iPads that are shared. In grades 7-12, every student has their own iPad 4. These devices, along with our computer labs, have created many opportunities to incorporate technology in some way every day.
